I make pet toys and sell them to someone who sells them on her website.

What are your qualifications? Education, training, experience, expertise, talents, etc? In short, what can you DO well which someone needs done badly enough that they are willing to pay for it? What do you need to do your work - space, computer & software, phone, website, whatever? Do you have it, or have the money to invest in it?

People earn money from all kinds of things: making quilts, inventing footie pjs for adults & making them, handcarving wooden toys & kitchen implements, accounting, editing science textbooks, drop-shipping high demand consumer items, selling antiques of a particular period/style, & a lot more. It all depends on your particular skills, e.g. being an expert in Swedish Country style antiques, or being a award-winning quilt maker, or....

Run something from home, probably on the internet. One good way is to find an online supplier of wholesale goods and set about making a small profit from each one by selling on ebay. The majority of people will just go to ebay and won't be aware of the profit on each item that you make.

I once ran a small jewellery box business online, buying up bare wood boxes in different shapes and sizes. i finished them myself at home in interesting ways, had fun selling them and then offered to customise the boxes for an extra sum. It made me a reasonable income for several years.

If you can incorporate an interest like that, it's a bonus, but if you just want to sell, make sure it's not tat. Think of a theme, try it and see if it works. If not adjust until your products are selling steadily.
