7 year old glowlight alone, should I get more tankmates?

I have a 7 year old glowlight that has been alone for 3 months. The last two other fish (platy and black neon) died. There were more fish in there a couple years ago. Anyway, I've added ghost shrimp and two mystery snails and live plants over the past month. Being that the glowlight is old, would it be a good idea or not to add more fish? I was thinking of getting 5 black neons. I don't want more glowlights cuz I don't want to mix him up with the others, so I can see how long he lives!! 15 gallon tank.

"I don't want more glowlights cuz I don't want to mix him up with the others,"

What does that mean? He is a social schooling fish, why wouldnt you want him to mix with his own kind?

Glowlight tetras are a small species that are a better choice for your small tank then the slightly larger black neons.

I think it would be great to add more fish. Of course I would recommend more of his kind because they are schooling fish and thrive doing that. But if you insist you do not want any more, then yes any other kind of schooling fish would be good.
