Ford 390 fe?

I have a stock 390 f250 and looking to replace the camshaft. Just curious how much lift can I have without hitting the pistons. I’m planning on replacing the valve springs too. It’s a 1968 if it helps.

If you are looking for more low end power, put an RV cam in, with new lifters. You would have to do more to the fuel system if you go with a wild cam.

Hi yes you will need strong valve springs to make sure the valve snaps shut quicker.
