What are the benefits of having open borders?

Open border will help to:

1. foster unity between the US and Mexico.

2. promote cultural integration between the two country.

3. improve diplomatic relationship between the two country.

4. stimulate the US economy (especially with regard to cheap labour, since most immigrants can take up any job to survive). Also, the immigrants will also pay taxes to the US government, pay house rent, buy food and other commodities, pay for other services rendered on their behalf, etc.

5. free movement of people with little or no harassment by Rangers.

6. reduce the price of hard drugs on the street of the United States because it will be so abundant (I'm just kidding...😂).

Heres a Crazy idea the majority of Mexicans who jump the border and come to america come for the american dream. What if you bring the dream to them? I mean as the 51st state of America if Mexico agrees that is of course. Yeah its a big change but then life as a whole will improve. I mean they are our neighbors even Hawaii is a state and they're like not a skip stones away i gotta get a big ol titanic boat to there. When you consider the idea it maybe crazy just cause of all the clean up and teamwork needed to pull it off including time.

with walls,who will build? Cheap labor... In politics the job is not to do the will of the people, the job is to get re-elected. In order to find the answer to why our politicians support causes that go DIRECTLY against the will of the people; FOLLOW THE MONEY! just another distraction....I don't know about the open borders thing, but having immigrants working in the US helps both the economy and US Citizen's wallets. The business owners can keep the prices of their products low because they don't have to pay their employees a lot or even offer them health care, and they can still make a killing in profits. Illegal Aliens have to have a place to live, they buy houses or rent. Taxes paid on the rent help keep local schools going. They have to eat, so they have to buy food. They need transportation, so they buy cars. They can't be walking around naked, so they buy cloths. They like to have entertainment like the Americans do, so they buy TVs, Radios, Phones etc.... And with these purchases, they are charged taxes, so they contribute Billions in tax dollars and purchases they make. Without them, this country would have Billions less coming into our economy.

It would be more beneficial for them to change their own country for their children instead of running away.

Your debate teacher must be a conservative, he put you in a fake straw man argument. Nobody is arguing for open borders, nobody wants open borders. One side thinks illegal immigration is a crisis and an emergency, and another side thinks the way Obama handled it was adequate. You should tell your teacher to not make you argue a straw man point. Instead maybe the debate could be about whether or not a wall is worth the money. That's the real debate.
