The Mandala Effect is an event where a mass of people will remember something that isn't correct. Sometimes refered to as "False Memory". The name comes from an African leader name Mandala who was arrested and thrown in prison for several decades and was released. However, nearly everyone who knows about him believed he died in prions decades ago.

There are many other examples of this phenomenon, and the causes of it is still being disputed.
