Biology question, multiple choice. Please explain, I don't understand how that mRNA strand matches the DNA strand?

    Ouch. Tough question. The "G" at the front of the choices is the 5' cap. The AAAA... at the end is the 3' poly-A tail. Okay.

    Also keep in mind: You're looking for a COPY not a COMPLEMENT, because you were given the NONTRANSCRIBED strand of DNA.

    First, eliminate choice D. It has T, and mRNA does not have T.

    Second, eliminate choice B. It's the wrong direction and has the polyadenylation on the wrong end.

    Remaining choices: ACE.

    Eliminate choice A. You're looking for UGU at the 5' end (ignoring the cap), and choice A has UGGU.

    Remaining choices: CE

    Eliminate choice E. It has a miscopy of sequence fairly early on, with an AUA where it should have a UAU.

    Remaining choice: C

    ...for completeness, you should look and see if that's a correct answer.
