How is the Fiat 500 for passenger space?
My girlfriend is looking at buying a Fiat 500, and someone mentioned to her that she might want to choose a bigger car as I am rather tall and a little overweight. Is there any truth behind this? I’ve not had any problems getting into any other cars, occasionally my head has brushed the roof but never because of my weight.

There's way more to a car than the way it looks. The Fiat 500 is a poorly-built car and they generally aren't very reliable. their poor reliability is the main reason why they aren't selling well' which is why Fiat is considering pulling out of the US market. So, if you're here in the US, consider that another reason not to buy.

She'll need to test drive the car before buying so just go down to the car yard with her and try it for size before you sign anything.

From what I can find out a 1967 WV bug has more room!
But the bug was designed for Germans who love beer, so that might not be a good comparison.
The front seat leg room was measured at 40.7 inches, shoulder room 49.9 and hip room 47.9 all inches Car & Driver was the source.
By comparison a Miata has 43.1 inches of leg room.
Bottom line is if you don't think you can fit in a Miata with comfort, you will not be comfortable in a Fiat 500.

It is a small fluking car. The reason they have car dealers is so you can go sit in them, kick the tires etc. That would be the best way to see if it fits you.

It's a tiny little deathtrap on wheels. Yes they are cheap, which is the only thing they have going for them. If you were 5'9" and 225, you'd sort of fit. If you are over 6' and over 250 pounds, it'll take a shoe horn to get you in and a winch to get you out.

A Fiat 500 is about the same size as a Mini Cooper. Have you ever been a passenger in one of those?
