Why did liberals applaud Obamacare when Democrats passed it but blamed it all on Republicans once it failed?

Because what Democrats passed would not have failed. Obamacare is actually working better than what the U.S. had before it (for example, before Obamacare, some Americans couldn't get health insurance for under $2000 per person per month, but now pretty much everyone can get it for under $600 per person per month). And the few parts that have failed (such as medicaid expansion in some states) failed only because of Republican interference.

It would work better if Republicans hadn't gutted the fundamental component on the law, but it hasn't fail. Spare us your faux outrage over the fact that no Republicans voted for it. Democrats still TRIED to get Republican votes, and amendments from Republican members were added to the bill, but they learned that it was a futile endeavor. Republicans didn't even try to get Democratic votes for the repeal nor for the tax cuts. They just drafted it behind closed doors and made adjustments as necessary to get enough holdouts on board.
