Do You Have Any Idea to Keep Clothes From Fading?

Clothing goes through a lot of wear and tear during the washing and drying process, but there are ways to extend the life of your clothing.

Close all zippers and button all buttons and wash/dry your clothes in-side-out. Zippers can cause a lot of wear on other clothing through friction while in the wash cycle and in the dryer as well.

Wash darks with darks and lights with lights and whites with whites, all in cold water with the proper laundry detergent.

When I begin to notice that some of my all black clothing are showing signs of fading, I run them through the rinse and spin cycle, then I get four or five packages of black clothing dye, follow the directions and put my faded wet spinned black clothing in the washing machine with the dye and stand there for the washer to fill up and agitate the clothes to mix the dye and then I open the washer so it stops the cycle. Let the clothes soak for a few hours and then continue with the washing cycle. Dry as usual. Then with two cups of bleach, run a small empty wash cycle to clean the machine of any dye residue. Works every time I also do the same thing with faded blue jeans. But, once you dye clothing, you must not mix those clothes with other colors for the first several times they go through the wash to prevent dye transferring.

Washing fabrics in cold water will not only help you cut down on your bills, but it will also help to keep your fabric colors from fading.
