Many airports or airlines will sponsor group sessions to help people overcome their fear of flying. Go to Google and search for "fear of flying classes <your city>."

Remember that there are hundreds of flights every day that cross the ocean safely. There are 60 flights every day (30 each direction) just between NY and London.

The link below has links to several classes.

    Millions are afraid of flying.

You could take some pills suggested by some. they might work for you.

you could try some of the methods some suggest. They MIGHT work for you.

You could go to YOUR Doctor for a referral to a professional for assistance.

Good Luck in whatever you choose as best for YOU.

I'm no psychologist or medical professional, but here is some advice from an avid flyer. Please note that you should probably see a therapist about this :).

Sit by a window seat, and close the window. That way you have control over what you see.

Get some drowsy Dramamine. It'll help with nausea and help you sleep through it easier.

If you can, avoid looking out windows in the air port.

If it helps, imagine you're boarding a teleportation device that can get you to one place to another without moving.

It is very difficult, but remind yourself that you are incredibly safe. If you have a friend with you, ask them to remind you of this.

There is one part you'll have difficulty with which is the feeling if the plane lifting off. You'll have to muster through it and ignore the part that the plane is taking off.

Take long train and bus rides over long bridges. 30 feet or 30,000 feet over water does not make a difference. Do you panic when you go through the Chunnel?? Flying is just mind over matter. {Sometimes a session with a mental heal [EDIT - health] provider helps.} Or, try to find a cruise, and come by ship.
