Do you think a gambling problem is a genuine addiction or just a behavioural problem?

    A little of both.

I would say it's genuine because almost everyone could fall into it -- if they get carried away to game consistently

Personally I think it's a behavioural problem. Same goes for pornography addiction and computer game addiction.

Addiction isn't always drugs I know many people who are addicted to soda/pop. My brother is addicted to playing video games. He lives with me and will literately stay in his room and not leave for weeks and sit on a bucket to poop. I bring him food sometimes so he won't starve to death.

People will normally lie to themselves so they won't have to face harsh reality. You ever heard the "I don't have a problem" saying.

One can be chemically addicted to drugs. Gambling is not a chemical problem. It's a lack of personal discipline.

I think it is as much a genuine addiction as any addiction (except for heroin and tobacco... those are the only two I have ever seen that manifest physical issues). It's all brain chemistry.
