Why do black girls sleep with a scarf on their head?

I think some people do that because of the texture of their hair and when they’re relaxing their hair? Not sure.

Had a mixed friend who would wear those on her head sometimes.

Not all black girls do that. And if u must know the ones that do it use the scarf bc it protects their hair from breakage. I think ppl have a problem with the question bc one it does sound racist and ignorant and second you worded it horribly. It protects their hair from rubbing on pillowcases which can cause breakage or split ends, it causes friction.
