I'm going to have to be homeless for two weeks any advice?

I'm probably going to have to sleep in my car. I just got an amazing job offer making more money than I've ever been offered. Everything about this job is amazing. Only problem is that it's 2 states away in a place I have no friends or family. I can't get into an apartment until middle of January. I've looked everywhere but I can't start a lease until then and I only have $500 to my name at the time being until I work and get paid so hotel rooms are out of the question. Any advice? Where can I park my car to sleep without getting into trouble? A loan is out of the question. My parents could only spare $200 so they already gave me what they could. The opportunity is to good to pass up. Its 60k a year and a week on week off schedule. So I'm going to to do it. But for 2 weeks in going to be without a roof over me head so if anyone has been is a similar situation and advice would help.

Usually you can sleep in the parking lot of a large store, especially if the store is open all night. You might want to get some sun shades for all the windows, so people can't look into the car and see you. You probably find any number of places to park and sleep, as long as you cover the windows so they don't know you are sleeping in the car. So what you do is wait until you are ready to go to sleep, then find a parking place for the night, cover the windows, and go to sleep right away so you won't have a light on and give yourself away. Since you will be living in town, you don't want to make it obvious you are living in the car. Make sure your tabs and license are up to date, and go to the car wash so your car looks respectable. This way, you are less likely to be noticed.

Now, if in spite of everything, the cops come along and tell you you can't sleep in your car there, just drive off and find someplace a few miles away. But this is not likely if you are careful.

Bring a urinal or a bucket if you are going to need to go to the bathroom in the night. You can get a cheap utility bucket and lid at a hardware store. If you poop, use a trash bag, which you can then tie closed and throw in a dumpster - maybe not legal, but you will wrap it up so it won't make a mess.

What some people do is to buy a gym membership, so they can go in and take a shower and brush their teeth. Cheaper than an apartment.

You can actually find a lot of advice on YouTube if you look it up. A lot of people are living happily in their cars for a lot longer than two weeks.

See if you can find temporary lodging at the YMCA or a hostel. Rooms are usually cheap. Call your employer and see if they know of any places you could stay.

have you tried explaining your situation to your new job? do they know you're two states away? if you have the experiences and skills that they need to hire you, some companies do offer help for relocation assistance. maybe call the hiring manager or HR department if they offer such services for employees.

Homeless shelter if they have a space for you. Charities provide meals too. First paycheck might not be for 2-3 weeks and not enough to live on for two more weeks so you might not have rent money for a month or more. Look for a room for rent once you get a paycheck so you need less stuff.

I went through this exact situation a couple years ago. Got a great job offer with no money to relocate on. Park at truck stops. You'll have bathrooms and showers there. Also like the other poster said buy some sun visors for the windows so no one sees you sleeping in your car. They are super cheap. Good luck and congrats on the job.

Enjoy especially you have got a decent job, so it would be hard to live in car for 2 weeks but It will be a great memory in the future, my advice is to write down diary every night about this experience.
