If the state line goes through your house, which state is it in?
For instance, there could be a house that is on the border of let's say Delaware and Maryland. If your mailbox is on the line, and the road it's on is split, then which state would the house be in?
or it could either be in Delaland or Maryware...

It the line literally goes through the house, then some of the house is in one state and some of the house is in the other state. There are interesting examples of buildings like this with strange legal implications. For example, if the line goes through a bar, then it may have to stop serving at some tables before others, because if the states have different times for when bars must stopping serving in their state. There is a hospital in NJ on the border of Glen Ridge and Montclair, and the birth certificates show the place where the delivery room is, but I guess the death certificates could show either (depending on where the patient dies), and the ZIP code for the hospital is a Montclair ZIP code.

If the line goes through it, then it is geographically located in both states.

Knowing some of our crazy laws it'd probably be like how many of your doors face north. If that greater than the sum of all your doors then its the state with the lowest position in tje alphabet.
