what do you call that screwdriver that allows you to tighten then turn the other way without lifting the screwdriver up?

    Every screwdriver I have ever seen (in over 50 years) allows you to tighten one way and then "turn the other way without lifting the screwdriver up." What are you trying to ask?

    The original was a threaded shaft screwdriver which turned the screw by pushing DOWN on the screw driver handle and was called a "Yankee Ratcheting Driver".
