Why do dems say that technology will solve the illegal immigrant crises and tell us that walls don't work?

The government squanders billions everyday on questionable projects. Neither the dems or cons care about a paltry $5 billion. If the dems want to really show how useless the wall would be, fund it and watch Trump fail. If apprehensions don't go down dramatically then he and the cons fail and they get the white house.

Walls don't work. This was clearly demonstrated before the fall of the Berlin Wall in Germany. Thousands of East Berliners fled to the West of the city, despite the wall with it's electrified barbed wire fencing, it's no mans land with anti-personnel mines, it's armed guards with submachine guns and a host of other dangers. That wall failed, and so would Trump's wall. A huge white elephant at an enormous cost to American taxpayers, which was originally going to be charged to Mexico!

I'm not a Dem/Lib by any stretch of the imagination. Certainly walls/fences do work, but it is also unrealistic to think that we can stretch a fence across our entire southern border. So technology will have to be a factor as well. Not to mention that we have other borders (entry points) that need to be protected too, so technology will be a big player in that as well.

Cameras would give the illegals a head start to get away.

The video you linked says nothing about the efficacy of the walls. It simply describes various walls that exist or did exist.

Also, the walls in the video are much shorter than 2,000 miles. Of course a wall that is 150 miles long in an open desert will be effective as that border is much easier to guard.
