Jehovah's Witnesses. which "trinitarian interpretation" is being corrected when you correct "generation" to mean "overlappers"?

Trinitarians have many interpretations of the generation at Matthew 24:34.

Here is just one

"The word "generation" there in Greek is γενεα (genea), which can also refer to a family, stock, nation. (Strongs, definition 2b) The NASB also has a footnote here next to "generation" saying "Or race". I've always interpreted it, therefore, as meaning that the Jewish people will continue to exist until the second coming.

Another form of the same word, γενος, is used in 1 Peter 2:9 where the KJV says "But ye are a chosen generation..." and the NASB, NRSV, ESV, pretty much all the modern translations, say "But you are a chosen race..."

Some people object to this interpretation because of the other verses that are clearly talking about the people of that time not dying until they see the kingdom come."

This generation could mean, according to one one of your brothers, a chosen race/people of the end times will not pass away until Jesus comes.

One thing that Jehovah's Witnesses are not taking into account. Is the fact that I'm still alive! And while I'm still alive there's at least one person that hasn't died from that generation that they spoke of. That's all it takes friend is one person and I'm still here.

The "overlappers"?? That's hilarious!

Why do people not understand such a simple concept and the way BAD Christian sects and cults are so against it?!

Christianity has been split into over 39,500 different denominations, sects and cults setting Christian against Christian and Christians against everyone else!

God's work? Hardly!

It must be the Devil and the Antichrist working together to divide, conquer and destroy Christianity from the inside!

That is not so much a correction as a needless statement of an obvious truth. Of necessity generations overlap.
