have 1999 gmc sonoma that hesitates after being turned off for short time?

After turning off the engine for a short time then restarting it the engine hesitates as if it was not getting gas. after driving a short distance it runs fine.what could this be?

Update:

no check engine. starts fine . idles fine

    Check fuel pressure while restarting. Fuel pump check valve could be failing.

    Very hard to say. Check engine light on? Hesitates to start or run after starting? Is it just an idle problem? The 4.3 was famous for EGR failure.
