I am unable to attend a job interview suggested by the hiring manager. What should I do?

Other than a serious health issue, what could possibly be more important than a job interview?

Call them as early as possible and ask to re-schedule the interview. Do not call them with only minutes to spare before the interview was supposed to take place! If you don't give them adequate notice, you're probably not going to get the job.

The best solution, if you can do it, would be to re-schedule whatever it is that's preventing you from going to that interview, so that you go to the interview as scheduled.
