What evolved from archaea? Can this be duplicated in a lab, or has nobody ever seen it happen?

    Supposedly Eukarya evolved from Archaea. It's a bit muddled because there was plenty of horizontal gene transfer going on.

    No one saw it happen, because it happened a couple of billion years ago.
