Will the government shutdown affect tax returns?

    Today,1-24-19 I went to the local IRS office to get some tax forms. The sign on the door said they were closed due to the shutdown. That alone may affect the tax returns.

    It will probably be slow coming back. But they are sending refunds.

    The IRS has been so slow at processing refunds.

    I'm still waiting on mine from 2017-2018

    No. You have to file as usual and on time. If you are due a refund, you may have to wait awhile.

    Trump said it wouldn't so you can guarantee that it 100% will affect tax returns.
