Why do both sides of the political spectrum seem to think that the other side is the worth people ever?

Question

People use liberal, conservative, right, left, etc as hate words if they disagree on things, but it seems like nobody is willing to see that a spectrum has more that two sides.  A spectrum has everything in between far right and far left, but nobody seems to acknowledge this, they just use liberal and conservative as buzz words of hate towards the other.  I just want to know why nobody is willing to listen to anybody else's point of view on anything, do any research for themselves, or see anything other than polarizing political parties.

They see their beliefs as becoming of a good, moral person.

Thus, anyone outside of those beliefs is "bad".

Personally, I try to understand the motivations behind others' beliefs. When you do that, different people don't seem so horrible, even if their opinions are.

Vales, Values, Values. That is what separates people. It's not skin color, place of origin, ethnicity, or sex.

In general, the left has one set of values and the right has one set of values. So I don't mind the use of left vs right as long as it is used properly.
