That all depends. How much work does the truck need versus how much is it worth? This is really a question that no one else can answer for you arbitrarily.

Get a new or newer truck. Life is too short to spend time driving clunkers.

Whatever is the best deal for you. You know what you have and that limits how well you might do swapping in a rebuilt engine. Buying a new truck might run you $30 and up. You decide.
