Here are some of God’s characteristics as revealed in the Bible: God is just (Acts 17:31), loving (Ephesians 2:4-5), truthful (John 14:6), and holy (1 John 1:5). God shows compassion (2 Corinthians 1:3), mercy (Romans 9:15), and grace (Romans 5:17). God judges sin (Psalm 5:5) but also offers forgiveness (Psalm 130:4).

The name "God Almighty" or "Almighty God" attributed to the Lord in the Old Testament is from the Hebrew name El Shaddai usually translated "God, the All-powerful One." In contrast with the numerous gods of the nations surrounding Israel, God was to be known as the almighty God who reigned over all.

He was the “almighty” to the ancient people who’s vision of a god was one of coercive power and ability to vanquish all foes.

With the revelation of his true heart and character in the person of Jesus, we finally see that he is love, and there is no greater force or power than his “almighty”, other-oriented love.

    Love is his power.

There is no greater power than God.

Yes, we had a feeling you meant the god in the bible. But thanks for clarifying.

Nobody asks how, he's just that all-mighty. Kind of like Superman, except he doesn't wear his undies on the outside and without the Kryptonite thing. You get to be all-powerful when you're the creator of universes and cool waterslides and stuff.

The true God is the Creator of all things. He had no beginning and will never have an end. (Psalm 90:2) He is the Source of the good news found in the Bible. (1 Timothy 1:11) Since God gave us life, we should worship only him.—Read Revelation 4:11.

No human has ever seen God because he is a Spirit, which means that he is a higher form of life than the physical creatures who live on earth. (John 1:18; 4:24) Nevertheless, we can discern God’s personality from the things he has made. For instance, the variety of fruits and flowers tells us of his love and wisdom. The size of the universe tells us of his power.—Read Romans 1:20.

We can learn even more about God’s personality by reading the Bible. For example, it tells us what God likes and what he does not like, how he treats people, and how he reacts in different situations.—Read Psalm 103:7-10
