How can the following issue can be addressed ? I have an Aluminium Fabricated glass door in front running on a rail.. Recently its getting?

Stuck .. maybe because of some wheel rotaing problem.. And i called the Aluminium Fabricator who installed it, maybe more than year back and though he said, he shall come but maybe because of newer bigger works, he is not much interested to take up this small maintenance job.. So the front glass door is getting stuck often if not handled with care ..

Since the maintenance fellows are too busy with their more profit making works perhaps, for the last few months, (don't even pick up the phone after a few calls made in this regard), we have decided that so far possible we shall not use the front door but the back door so that the glass door don't loose its screws with too much handling with rough pulls and pushes ..

The problem is that some guests feel bad that they are asked to come thru the back door and they feel that since it can be opened with some difficulty without bothering much about its future breaking down, front door needs to used and they should not be made to walk a few meters more thru the back door ..

Sometimes the front door is opened despite difficulties for some non normal situations but that is not encouraged much fearing the loosing of screws for the extra force ie applied with stuck wheels on rails perhaps ..

How to address such a seemingly social discrimination issue of second class citizenship kind of feeling ie felt by a few people out of some constraints and compulsions of current times for a longer future survival outlook ..

Try lubricating the track (spray WD-40 or even cooking spray) to help it run smoother.

I do that to my sliding glass doors every spring and every fall.

Or take the door off, and see if something is stuck on one of the little wheels.

    1. Vacuum the track of all particles, doesn't take much to stop a sliding door!

    2. Adjust wheel height if you see where it's rubbing

    3. Replace wheels: lift up and the door, place on its side, remove a wheel and but a pair at home improvement center, replace them BOTH. Vacuum and clean track. I suggest you lube the new wheels with Tri-Flow lube if at all possible. Lift in the door, ensure you have the wheels on their tracks, and adjust height.

And to add for a more extended repeat session ..

Sometimes the front door is opened despite difficulties for some non normal situations but that is not encouraged much fearing the loosing of screws for the extra force ie applied with stuck wheels on rails perhaps .. Some of the guests think that they are having such high worths that they needs to be treated special .. Some of them even stopped coming because of this non special second class treatment offered to them by asking a few extra meters walk for the sake of lower usage of front glass door with more force ..

Some think that their honour and dignity as guests to enter thru front door is worth more than that of glass doors, and glass doors needs to be allowed to go to peril if it happens in future, but here and now with current times their honour and dignity is worth more to be protected, more than preserving the glass front doors for future by operating less ..

What could be the escape route here ?

Needs new wheels. Lift the door out and replace them.
