  • The goose step was used as a ceremonial style of march in many countries including the Netherlands and USA. The army most proficient in it were the Prussians and it was taken up by a united German Army before WW1. Its association with Germany meant that most European countries went off the idea. However, it is still used at guard changing ceremonies in Athens and at military parades in Russia and North Korea.
