    It says we are to love our fellow human beings, especially our children, but not accept their sinful behavior.

    We're now in the New Testament, for 2000 years. It's a new covenant, and we follow that now. The bible only says in NT not to make it hard for them.

    Book of Provers recommend spanking them with a rod for discipline. This is a good advice to follow, but never do it out of anger, but out of good intend. Deuteronomy 21:18-21 is probably talking about already grown up children (mention of bein a drunkard) that fail to listen to several warnings.
