How well do you think Jim Brown and Walter Payton in their prime would do in this modern era?

Exceedingly well. Behind some of these massive O-lines and the holes they can open up, even with bigger, faster defensive backs, both would excel in today's game. People forget just how great an athlete Brown was. Anyone who points out that 'he didn't train like the guys of today' conveniently overlooks or intentionally ignores the fact that if he was playing today, he'd train just as hard, if not harder, than his competition. You didn't get to be a world-class lacrosse player by not being in shape.

They'd make Ezekial Niggiot look like Trent Richardson.

They were both fine athletes and would do well today.

Probably about the same. They're two of the most dominant RBs ever, but a lot would depend on the system they're in. This has become a passing league and both had good hands. They'd probably catch more, run less.

They would have both been all-time greats in any era. Where their production came from etc., might have been different in 2019 NFL football than when they played, but I have no doubt given the immense raw talent and sheer will that both men displayed that they'd have found a way to be all-time greats in any era of the NFL under any rules and in any offensive "system".

Brown played in a different era with a different style and work ethics. He was a great athlete of the time, but he didn't train like modern lineman or other RBs do these days. Heck, it used to be unheard of to have a 300lb player on the field. Now it's an every day thing. The game is just too different to say for him.
Payton played and excelled in the modern game. There is little reason to think that he wouldn't be able to adapt to and excel given the right teammates. (Remember, teammates are *extremely* important for a RB's success.)

Both would do incredibly well. Especially Payton who's better suited for today's pass happy rules.
