Im trying to get a government job and i have some questions. Ive always wanted to start a youtube channel, a podcast, and some other creative endeavors. But im worried these projects will effect my chances. Is this a good way to think or no?

A government employer won't look too favourably at your intentions,better off keeping your private projects to yourself

If your planned content is obscene and disqualifying from a professional job, sure, it's a problem. Perhaps that's a reason not to make toxic crap in the first place.
Otherwise, it's a good idea - employers want employees with creativity.

What kind of government job? Are you running for Mayor or are you going to empty the trash at the city park?
What kind of YouTube or podcast? Will you be demonstrating how to knit a sweater sleeve or will you be wearing a tinfoil hat?
You shared basically zero relevant information and we are not clairvoyant.
