I want to rent out some houses. But im afraid to because of “squatters rights”. Can someone explain this to me? I live in Illinois?
If someone cant pay rent, shouldnt i be able to evict the(after allowing a month to find a new place)? And in cases where “squatters rights” are applied, are property taxes suspended until the squatters are gone? Because you cant prevent the owner from making money if you want him to pay the taxes.

"Squatter's Rights", formally called "Adverse Possession" don't even come close to being an issue. The ONLY attach when someone openly acts as if they owned the property for several years without the actual owner objecting.
The fact you are not aware of that suggests that, like most people, you should buy a few hours of a Real Estate attorney's time to learn about landlord/tenant law before becoming a landlord.

Ignore all the stupid things someone told you about squatters.
You can evict a tenant in accordance with the lease and Illinois law.
Having to evict tenants is the cost of being a slumlord.

Adverse possession: actual, visible, open, notorious, hostile, under claim of right, definite, continuous, and excluse--ain't so easy to prove, dude. Readya sum and think about it.

You pay taxes on a property regardless of whether or not you are making money off of it.
If someone fails to pay, you habe to go thru the eviction process.. Which can take months.

Getting someone evicted can take MONTHS. Property taxes are NEVER suspended. It doesn't matter if the property makes money, the taxes still need to be paid, or the property will be confiscated.

You should discuss your concerns with a lawyer that specializes in rentals. If someone does not pay their rent, of course you can evict them. You should know the process and have the forms needed ahead of time in case you need to do so. If you follow the process properly and promptly, squatters rights do not become an issue.
No, property taxes are not suspended if you fail to properly evict a tenet and they exercise squatters rights.
"Because you cant prevent the owner from making money if you want him to pay the taxes." The state is not preventing the owner from making money, the squatter is.
