Does anyone know the statistics for people seeking mental health therapy through their life?

It goes largely unreported, so most stats you may read on the internet are probably going to be too low.

My wife is a pediatrician and here, pediatricians take the role of child psychiatrists. She doesn't discuss individual cases (confidentiality), but it frequently comes up that she referred patients to what psychiatrists or what type of therapist (usually here psychologists), and it seems fairly frequent (as in every week).

This is not a precise stat nor an accurate to the population one as her practice is in a private clinic and her patients do not represent all socioeconomic groups, and mental health occurs in poor populations as frequently, but poor patients don't seek treatment as often (as being healthy is too expensive.)

Our healthcare system is barely better than a 3rd world country's. It's sad and needs to change.
