You know knowledge is power is just a pure metaphor, right?

Knowledge by itself is no power as such....... it can though create power, but only when it is relevant, timely and most importantly when it is applied with intent, skill and ability to gain power apropos a situation or person.

Knowledge has it's own value. It may make you powerful.

Sure you could argue that. The application of knowledge however is a different story. That power could be used for good or bad, but nevertheless it's still power.

Not just a metaphor. It’s reality. Today’s tech companies love our data. It makes them money, gives them control. Even in the bible it says those with slide rules will inherent the Earth. Knowing stuff, knowledge is fundamental to our ongoing development as a species. It could save us but also send us to our oblivion. So knowledge is power, it’s up to us as to how and when we use it driven and guided by our own codes of law, morality and ethics.
