Is it true that Huawei p30 photos were faked by a DSLR? Or is that claim from the competition?

At the launch much was made of its zoom, but today's news suggests it was taken by a DSLR...

In which case, where can I buy that DSLR? At the recent launch much was made of its zoom capabilities, but today I have seen reports suggesting that the photos were faked using a DSLR.

So is it true that the P30 has a fake camera? Or is that report from a, competitor?

Any dSLR will do. The quality of your photos will depend on your skill.

The P30 has a real camera but you must remember that the P30 is a phone. Its camera is only an added feature. You can take pictures with it but don't expect total control. You can get nice pictures with it but don't expect National Geographic cover quality.

That the photos were shot with a different camera does not mean the P30 has a fake camera, it certainly has real one, most likely an excellent one, just not an DSLR like the Canon EOS 5D. How should it be possible for a 700 $ phone which has a lot of features besides a camera to be as good as a 2500 $ camera which was designed only to shoot photos (and maybe videos) and with an even more expensive lens. If Huawei had re-invented photography they would brag more about it.

So the camera is pretty good for a phone and that's what the marketing message is about. You know, that's advertising. It does not have to be real, it just has to look great.
