How to figure out window 7 login password?
So my sister got guardianship over father. He has dementia. He has a nice all in one hp with windows 7. The problem is login password. Should she just throw it in garbage or can she take it to like a computer place and pay them to figure it out. Thanks.
Ps she has guardianship papers so the computer guy will know its legit.

No need to figure out the password. Take it to a computer shop and they can remove the password. You can also do it if you are capable. There is a program called Offline NT that you can use to create a Bootable USB. You can boot into the USB and remove the password. It only takes a few minutes.

There might be a way to restore it to factory settings.
Anything he had on it would be lost, but the computer would then be completely usable again.
Also, look around all the papers near the desk. Older people often write down their passwords because they can't keep track of them. Before doing anything, look for a notebook or note cards near the computer that might give a clue for what the password is.
