Do I need to bring a gift?

It's my friend's birthday this Saturday and she's hosting a birthday party at her apartment at night. 100 people are invited. Do I need to bring a gift? We're not super duper close but are friends.

    She's hosting her own birthday party for 100 guests? She's hosting a gift grab for her own benefit. In effect: "Come over, but be sure to bring me a present". I wouldn't bring her a gift. I'm not too sure I would even attend her party.

    100 at an apartment, yikes. Not sure I would even go. Hell no you don't need a gift. If you are worried about back lash, show up snap a few selfies and bail. If she calls you out, show her pics. the end.

    Yes. Bring something. A bottle of wine, a gift card to a coffee shop, whatever. And a happy-birthday card.

    You don't have to be super-duper close to be polite.
