Ive a HD with Win8.1. ive lost the password. ive another PC with Win7. if i put the first HD into it as a slave drive can i boot into Win7 ?

Then access the 8.1 drive and remove/change the password ?

    Yes, that could work, but it would be simpler to simply download an NT password cracker, which can be booted from a boot CD or USB thumbdrive.

    you can download password changers to write to CDs usually based on linux that can boot and change the password a hirens boot disk can do it, first try putting administrator or admin in the user line and just press enter when the cursor is in the password box
