Do you prefer Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas?
I think both have their strengths and weaknesses and I find it hard to pick a winner out of the two. On one hand Fallout 3 is more fun to explore, the DLC's are overall better and the game allows you to make a really strong character but that is also one of its bad points because you're basically given 2 options. Be bad or be good and not much room for role playing.
New Vegas has better quests and npc's and 2 of the DLC's are so good (Dead Money and Old World Blues) and you have multiple options for role playing and it limits you from making one character that has all the perks and stats but the map is smaller and less random buildings to go loot and explore.

I prefer New Vegas I love that it has more endings, I liked the whole desert vibe and the DLCs all are very good fun. Fallout 3 was good for its time but I like Vegas more. Its my favoruite fallout I know you didnt ask but I prefer it to 4 aswell.

Prefer Fallout: New Vegas. I like the Noir style.
- Enemy variety/balancing: Fallout: New Vegas just had more variety and better location/spawn balancing in Fallout 3 you can get completely destroyed when the game decides to spawn 4 Giant radscorpion, 2 Yao guai, 1 Super Mutant Master and 1 Deathclaw right after each other. I like how Deathclaws in New Vegas are specifically located to Quarry Junction or other specific locations rather then being random encounters like FO3.
- Companions: Outside of Butch and Dogmeat I didn't really like any of the companions in Fallout 3, whereas I really liked Arcade, Craig Boone, Lily Bowen, Raul, Cass, Veronica, ED-E and Rex with Raul being my person favorite. I wish Fallout 3 let you have Herbert "Daring" Dashwood as a companion.
- Quest: There are a lot of quests I like in Fallout 3 like Agatha's Song which Fallout: New Vegas just had more of.
Overall New Vegas just has more to it and is balanced far better then Fallout 3.
I will say this however Fallout 3's Add-ons were far better then Fallout: New Vegas, screw Dead Money, Old World Blues and Lonesome Road. Outside of Honest Hearts the New Vegas add-ons were an unbalanced mess which wasn't fun to trudge through.
