Is there a way i can be smarter?

I genuinely have problems. Whenever the teacher asks a question i usually take more time than my peers to answer it. It take alot for me to process it ( i do get the answers correct though). Also whenever im in challenging situation like a timed test i blank out(my brain starts thinking about waaaay different things) , this has been happening ALOT. I really dont know why im like this i feel very stupid.
