Why are people more concerned about a church than people dying in the streets of lack of good nutrition?

Great works of art are examples of the greatness of human achievement and should be preserved. Most people starving are doing so because of their own poor choices and stupidity!

Churches saves people's souls. Governments solve diseases & do research on them. They should each concentrate on what they do best. The government spends billions on diseases & research. It's hard to see how the little money from churches would help much more.
