That is a very popular amp (assuming it's the gm-D9601 inside) and this is the first glitch I've ever seen mentioned. It could be a defect (they happen, regardless of brand). If you bought it from a reputable retailer I would expect Pioneer to provide good support.
Alternatively - I would verify you have the d4's and not d2's. I would verify all the power/ground wiring -- any bad connection can cause enough voltage drop for the amp to shut down.
Verify your battery is ~12.5v at rest and your alternator is 14v+ while running.

Rewire the subs for higher impedance so the amp doesn't draw more current than the vehicle has to give. Sure 1200rms watts is an impressive brag, but 800 rms watts pretty strong. Would you like to hear more of the program besides BWOOM BWOOOM , and sheet metal flapping? Perhaps your car can support 70 amperes for entertainment and still run the rest of the car, while you shake everything on the block. Examine the whole car besides the stereo... your alternator is a finite power source .You're giving the speakers enough power to cook a steak

they are 4 0hms, the thing is i had the GM-D8601 for two years and it went bad after two years, i feel like i should of got more out of it, however i will check wires and switch with new wires just in case. Something is telling me to take it back and get the rockford fosgate R1200-1D.
