Could you be wrong about everything you think you know?

What hope is there if there is no God?

Update:

A circle is a circle and a square is a square because that is what we are taught. Can you prove a circle is a circle and a square is a square? We agree to accept that they are what they are. Could the names change in the future? Could a square be called a circle? If that is accepted, then yes.

Update 2:

Less than 200 years ago, believing in a Creator God was accepted by the majority. Could they prove a Creator God existed? They agreed to accept God for who He is. Could times change in the future? Could people turn from a Creator God and look to man’s theory of Evolution? If that is accepted, then yes!

Update 3:

Does it really matter if we believe in a Creator God or in Evolution? It matters to God! If it matters to God and He is our Creator, then He has every right to be angry and punish those how He see’s fit!

Update 4:

Can a man identify himself as a woman, and use the woman’s restroom? Can a woman identify herself as a man, and use the men’s restroom? If that is accepted, then yes!

Not everything because we know we exist. Nevertheless, about 95% of what we know are learned. There is no hope without God, thus if God does not exist, our efforts in life is pointless and futile.

I've been wrong plenty of times but I don't see what God has to do with it.

I don't see what hope has to do with the fact of whether a God exists.

    Hope for what?

You mean "wishful thinking", don't you?

Wishful thinking never made anything happen.

About everything I know - no. I know that there can be no square circles.

About some of the stuff I know - sure. I have been wrong before, and when I am wrong I admit it and take on the new information I have been given. Do you have any new information that is credible evidence that your god is real?

Am I wrong about God? I find it very unlikely:

Christians claim that God is all powerful, all knowing, loving and the creator of the universe.

An all knowing deity would know of a universe where all his aims for the people of the universe would be achieved without any suffering.

An all powerful deity would be able to create such a universe.

A loving deity would want to create such a universe where there is no suffering of his creations.

But in our universe there is suffering, not only of adults, who you might argue have free will to "choose" to suffer, but also of children and babies that do not have the ability to make that choice. In fact we see small children and babies suffering due to "acts of God".

Hence our universe can not have been created by an all powerful, all knowing, loving deity.

    Hence God can not exist.

Please feel free to point out the flaw in my logic.

It is possible that some deity that is not loving, or not all knowing, or not all powerful could have created the universe - but I see no good reason to think this is true. But the Christian deity - God - can not be the creator of a universe where innocents suffer.

So, if it is a logical impossibility for God to exist - then any hope that you get from God is a false hope, and meaningless.

I would argue that a world without hope could be a better place. If I know that there is no point in "hoping" that global warming will be solved, or "hoping" that I can afford my medical bills, or "hoping" for other stuff - then am more likely to realize that if I want this to change then I actually have to go out there a contribute towards changing things.

A world without hope is (hopefully) a world were people actually act.

That's why I'm a nihilist. You can't be wrong if you don't believe in anything.

You seem to be implying that WE are wrong, but that YOU couldn't be wrong.

And, hope for what? False hope is believing a lie because you don't want to accept what is real.

"What hope is there if there is no God?"

The hope that millions like me, whom God has deemed worthless and without value, will continue to exist. In fact, we have no hope if it turns out your God is real.
