What to wear on hot rainy days?
Its going to be hot tomorrow with scattered thunderstorms. I also have to work in this weather and I don't own any rain pants. Last time it stormed while I was working, I wore jeans and ultimately they got soaked and my coworkers were afraid I'd get sick from wearing wet pants. Do you think athletic shorts would be okay with a rain jacket? The shorts I have aren't fabric material and seem to be water resistant. The only thing I have to worry about is looking silly right?

Umbrellas work well. Raincoats too. I was at costco a week or so ago and I knew it was going to rain but I don't have a rain jacket. I saw a lady with one and it made me think I need to get one. Well, It started pouring down and I got soaked going to my car.
But I had light weight fast dry poly shorts and a shirt and I was dry in 10 minutes on the way home.
You cant wear shorts to work. Polyester would be better than cotton if you have any poly pants. I think i bought a pair I just don't wear pants in summer. I wear shorts.
When i got home, I looked at walmart.com for rain jackets and I did not see any. The one the lady had looked like a designer one...for $40-50.
But walmart did have some kind of emergency poncho for about a buck. It said in store only. I would buy one if I knew where in the store too look. Maybe you can find out & let me know?

What does everyone else wear? If they wear athletic shorts, then that should be fine. I have to ask... If it's warm enough for shorts, how would you get sick wearing wet jeans? If you work outside often, I'd invest in a pair of rain pants.
