Atheist: What would you do if your child asked you to take them, or go with them to a fundamental Bible believing Church?

I would agree to go with them.
It would be an excellent point of departure
into a discussion of what happens, there,
and why those people believe as they do.
Religion memes
and the effects they have
on the minds they inhabit and control
are fascinating.

I would most likely respond with something like
" Who put this nonsense in your head ? "

I would take them. I want them to make up their own mind about their being a god or no god I would share with them what I believe however but I would never impose it on them nor would I tolerate someone else imposing their religion on them but if they specifically asked of me to take them to a fundamentalist church that's not imposing.

Been there, done that.
Very educational for both the children.
They both read the bible(s) too, and are now adult atheists with very good jobs.

I would tell them that I would take them to a library.

It wouldn't happen. If a child of mine wanted to go to a mainstream Christian church, fine, but s/he would have been raised to despise fundies.

Simon: What would you do if your child suddenly said he / she wanted to attend a normal school with other children because they wanted to learn to count to more than 6000 and read more books than just the bible day after day..
