When is the earliest men start losing their hair? Is it genetic?
I was just wondering as my brothers hair has been thinning over the past couple years and he's just 21. I've heard male hair loss comes from the mum's side but I thought it happened well after their 30s? Not just that, some of the guys from high school that I saw recently seem to have lost a significant amount of hair. Is that normal?

Some men start losing their hair as early as high school. Yes, there are really people who lose it that early, I know of quite a few. I also know of people who are in their 70s who have barely lost any hair.
Yes, it’s dependent on your genetics. Everyone is different and there is nothing you can do about it.

It might have started at that time when they added many other things in their diet.

You can start losing your hair in your teens. My stepbrother was definitely thin on top in his late teens. My hairdresser mentioned her son had no hair on the top of his head before he turned 20.

I had a college classmate who was bald on top at age 19. Many guys have noticeably thinning hair in their 20's and they've often shaved their heads in their 30s. Other guys have fairly thick hair most of their lives.

Yes it's 100% genetics. White men tend to go bald faster than any other race. Sad but true.
