astigmatism correction?

i have astigmatism of -1.5 in the left eye, -1.75 right eye, as for contacts. for my glasses prescription the optometrist increased the astigmatism correction for the right eye but not the left. she said the value would be to -1.75 but felt the -.25 would be too much. i tried it out with diopters and it was just a teensy bit sharper. what should i do?

Wear what ever is best for you and what the doctor says! I have astigmatism in both of my eyes that my contacts corrects. But I like my glasses a lot better as I can see much better than contacts as my glasses are progressive bifocals as I am getting older and cant see up close like I use to. Even if you wear contacts or plan on getting them. you need to have glasses that are current prescription to wear as it is a must to have glasses at least!

go with what was most comfortable for you,

I have asygmatism on one eye not the other, i have frequently had my contact lenses changed due to just the right eye.

It may be you have fallen between values, they would have asked you what looked better. Its between you and the optometrist what you go for.

None of us were there. I suggest using the latest results from the refraction your doctor did. If it looks good there, it should be the best.
