PCB file broken?
I have a manufacturing factory in China. I just got thousands of PCB files from our factory. The most of them can be opened by the protel (old version). 4 of them for making the pcbs for the new models currently produced by my factory can "not" be opened. Costs of everything in China has got high and I want to outsource the manufacturing to other factories and lay off my workers. the supervisor now at our factory is resistig on what I am doing.
These 4 PCBs were developed by the developing studio he colluded with, but they belong to my company. PCBs files for the all of other models can be opened. Since they can not be opened, I won't be able to outsource them. I doubt that my supervisor and developing studio absolutely broke these files? by what?

Those files has been locked with a special locking software by someone whom running them daily. Make a copy to them and let someone has special software tool to open it because a special password is needed to unlock those files.

If this were my problem, I'd send those 4 files back to whoever made them and tell them that they don't open with my software.
My guess is that you have a compatibility problem between your software the the software used to make the files. You said you have an old version, so perhaps you need to update it.
