Did the Christian God NOT create everything? Why do Christians say He didn't create evil?

How can He just "allow" evil if He didn't create a reality in which evil is a possibility? Didn't He create EVERYTHING?

Update:

At atheists: I'm asking this of course assuming that God exists so if you don't believe in God just take it as if I were asking about a fictional character within their fictional universe (like if I ask if Spiderman has a certain superpower).

Rightly, Jehovah brought evil or calamity upon Adam for his disobedience. Hence, in the Scriptures, Jehovah is referred to as the Creator of evil or calamity. Isa 45:7

His enforcing of the penalty for sin, namely, death, has proved to be an evil, or a calamity, for mankind. So, then, evil is not always synonymous with wrongdoing.

Examples of evils or calamities created by Jehovah are the Flood of Noah’s day and the Ten Plagues visited upon Egypt. But these evils were not wrongs.

Rather, the rightful administration of justice against wrongdoers was involved in both cases.

However, at times Jehovah, in his mercy, has refrained from bringing the intended calamity or evil in execution of his righteous judgment because of the repentance on the part of those concerned.

Additionally, in having a warning given, Jehovah has undeservedly provided opportunities for the practicers of bad to change their course and thus to keep living.

God created everything yes, including the possibility for evil to manifest itself. And it did.

Evil does not exist all by itself: evil is the corruption of good.

What started off as whole (or holy) became corrupted because we sinned - we rebelled.

No, Satan and man created evil, NOT God.

If you have a son who murders someone, that doesn't mean you are a murderer.

In the KJV passages that state that God created "evil", "evil" in those days also meant "calamity" without any moral sense to it.

As usual, many Christians are unfamiliar with their own Bible.

    Isaiah 45:7

"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things".

    Joshua 23:15

"Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which the LORD your God promised you; so shall the LORD bring upon you all evil things".

    Judges 9:23

"Then God sent an evil spirit".

    1 Kings 9:9

"therefore hath the LORD brought upon them all this evil".

    God agrees with you!

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.

    Isaiah 45:7

Christian ministers and Christians in general mold and interpret to suit their own opinions. That's why there are so many sub-sects in religions. "Free Will" is a bucket excuse covering a lot of negative things.

  • Evil is not an object

it is not matter, it is not energy

It is the absence of Good

Is darkness created by light, or the absence of light?

    Light DEFINES darkness

    Good DEFINES Evil

but of themselves these things are nothing

And it take a human heart to foment evil into something dreadful
