Can you ask the court to keep your address private?

I am planning to sue someone in small claims court who has criminal record which includes burglary, drug possession etc. I am afraid when I win, the defendant might seek revenge. So I want to keep my address private. Basically this person hit my car while driving with suspended license and uninsured. The accident was not my fault so it’s an open and close case. I can possibly use writ of execution to recover my damages since he owns a car.

Ask at the office of that court, where you lodge the paperwork.

You can ask your local court about your local process. However, generally speaking, the other person needs to be able to serve you with paperwork. You'll likely have to provide at least a PO Box.

If someone has this record, your bigger concern is if the person actually can pay. If not, you're wasting your time.

If someone wants to seek revenge, they're going to find you no matter what.
