I have tried several ways to serve the other party including certified mail, having sheriff serve the papers. But the other party refuses to be served. The sheriff even tried calling the other person on the phone but they immediately hang after hearing that legal documents need to be served to them. The other party has moved to a new place. Can I file a contempt of court motion against the person?

3 AnswersTVs2 years agoSmall Claims Judgment - how to mail Financial disclosure form?
I have small claims judgement against someone. I am trying to mail Financial disclosure form to the debtor so I can garnish his wages. I have tried sending through Certified mail as per recommendation by the court. But the debtor hasn't picked it up from Post Office or tried to reschedule deliver at a different time since he wasn't available when post office tried to deliver the first time. Can I still file a contempt of court motion against the debtor if he doesn't respond or try serving the forms in a different way?

I am planning to sue someone in small claims court for damages to my vehicle during accident with him. The defendant didn't have insurance and was driving on suspended license. The accident was clearly his fault. I am afraid the guy might try to harm me if he loses his case. Is it worth going after him in court?

I am suing someone with felonies and other cases. I don’t want him to come after to seek revenge when I win.
6 AnswersLaw & Ethics2 years agoCan you ask the court to keep your address private?
I am planning to sue someone in small claims court who has criminal record which includes burglary, drug possession etc. I am afraid when I win, the defendant might seek revenge. So I want to keep my address private. Basically this person hit my car while driving with suspended license and uninsured. The accident was not my fault so it’s an open and close case. I can possibly use writ of execution to recover my damages since he owns a car.
