Are you considered a resident of a state if you live there for over a year and don't have the state ID card?

I have lived in WI for nearly 2 years for work but still carry NY state ID, I only live here for work and consider NY my home. Am I legally resident of NY or WI?

Legally, you are a resident the INSTANT you enter the state with the intent to remain.

Legally, your NY ID is NULL AND VOID because you have been a WI resident for 2 years.
